Located in Southeast Asia, Laos is preparing to boost its tourism sector by introducing a visa-free policy for Chinese tourists. Starting from July until December of 2024, Chinese tourists traveling with travel agents will not need a visa to enter the country. In addition to this, the Lao government also intends to offer multiple-entry visas and extend the duration of stay for more international visitors from 30 days to 60 days. According to the Lao Deputy Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Darany Phommavongsa, the country also plans to improve road infrastructure in major transit areas for a smoother travel experience.
